4 kms to go on the Abra de Ilog-Puerto Galera road

Anthony Nwaogo said that the deadline for the completion of the Abra de Ilog-Puerto Galera road is 2020 or 2 years from now.

Nwaogo claims to be the “supervisor” of Algimar Construction company, the contractor of the road project from the Puerto Galera side to Abra de Ilog.

Nwaogo said that there is only 4 kilometers left before the national road from Puerto Galera will be connected to the national road of Abra de Ilog.

The remaining portion is the hardest part of the project as this entails “dynamite blasting” of very hard marble rocks along very stiff valleys.

Nwaogo said that the blasted rocks are then used as materials for anti-erosion and slope protection.

Nwaogo said that the amount of the contract given to Algimar Construction is around 250 million pesos.

Algimar Construction is the contractor of the phase one of the Sabang road which has taken more than 16 months to finish.
