Malasimbo Music and Arts Festival, a beautiful and peaceful event

Malasimbo Music & Art FestivalMalasimbo Music & Arts Festival was back on its 7th year, and this time, they brought in some of the freshest local and international artists for 3 days of nothing but good music, arts, and culture. The Event took place on March 10-12 at the foot of Mount Malasimbo in Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro, Malasimbo Music & Arts Festival was once again fulfilling its goal to blend the traditional and contemporary arts and musical performances while working towards the protection of the environment.

This year’s lineup presented of a combination of various genre, from soul and jazz to world music. Some of the artists present in the event where Jordan Rakei, Tennyson, Apartel, Curtismith, CRWN, Lefto, Jeck Pilpil & Peacepipe and Bre3aking Silence.

In an online Interview, Miro Grgić stated to Fortnightly Journal that “this year was the best Malasimbo Festival yet”. With 10% more visitor than the previous year, the organizers are very pleased with the outcome. But they also ask for more local support for the up-coming Events from the Local Government Unit, the Private Sector, like Resort Owners and also from the regional and national government departments like the Department Of Tourism. Grgić stated  also, that this year there been for the first time more foreign than local visitors on the grounds of the Event.

The local Municipal Police Station was pleased with the Festival as well. No mayor incidents where reported, a peaceful event. Beside the music and art action, there was 6 people (4 local and 2 foreign) arrested for possession of Marijuana. Who ever went to other Festivals around the world know, that’s a number, next to nothing.

Beautiful Sculptures and perfect lights effects made the whole event, beside the great performances of the musicians a round and sound, beautiful event. Perfect even for families to introduce the little ones into the magical world of Arts and Music. That everything been held under the Banner of Environmental Conservation with an touch of Indigenous experience made it even more worth the peso.
